I am planning a trip fourth of july weekend with some buddy's to grand isle. I will be targeting tuna yf and bf, wahoo, and dolphin. My question is, is there any rigs to fish for tuna due south of grand ilse. Or do I need to go further east towards the lump and medusa. Kinda of new to it any help would be appreciated . I will be staying at bridge side if that helps any. We will also be there memorial weekend to. The name of my boat is killin time. Y'all give me a holler if y'all see us. Would love to meet some y'all.

usually that time of year there is a good grass line along the green blue rip and it can vary from about 20 - 50 miles due south of GI. It is possible to catch everything you named on that rip with the addition of marlin. If you leave out of Caminada pass and go due south.. watch out and don't go thru the loop!!!! The boogey man WILL get you!

Josh,
There are quite a few rigs that you can hit that definitely should be holding fish. What size boat are you running and what kind of fuel capacity and burn are you working with? I have drums and a pump you can use if you need...

We are running a 26' pursuit with two 250. We hold 234 and burn approximately 1.3 mpg. We have plenty of range I think it some where around 300-310 miles. So I don,t think fuel is a problem. But appreciate the offer. How's the new boat search coming.
