I saw this picture on Facebook and figured with the other bird threads going on I would post.....Just goes to show the ridiculousness that is happening on Hatteras Island........Our beaches should have unrestricted accessibility.....I'll get off my soapbox......

Look at the tire tracks on the other side of the barrier. Funny how the government can drive all over the beaches but the people that live there cannot though they have been doing it forever without any ill effects. The government has turned the outer banks into a ugly place with all the stakes signs, and ropes strung everywhere. It is a shame. Watch the video in my sig.

Same old story the Feds pulled on Cape Cod National Seashore. They just bulldozed last 5 cottages near Nauset Inlet that were supposed to remain until descendant families were done with them. They used the Piping Plovers as an excuse to keep ORVs and fisherman off the beaches. Now the seal population is out of control thanks to their mismanagement and the Great Whites are lured inshore to feast.

The birds on Cape Hatteras are no longer an endangered species....their endangered species status has been re-assigned to the locals of Hatteras Island...

i bet that falcon (?) takes out more plovers than any cars would.

Well if there weren't any plovers then that raptor wouldnt be hanging around on the beach for that cool photo. But hey, if you hate birds of prey....
