Went out on a local headboat today for some stripers. Awesome day to be out on the water. Saw some fellow THT'ers out there as well. Hopefully y'all did as well as we did. I think just about everyone got 1 keeper with a lot of people limiting out. Not too bad for shoulder to shoulder fishing. While the bite was good and I managed to stay out of tangles all day, I remember why we decided to buy our own boats in the first place. I ended up landing 3 bass. 1 fell off at the gaff, and 1 dogfish. No blues to be seen but the guy fishing next to me did catch a mackerel. When it came time for the pool, my biggin made it around the boat in first place up until the very last person to weigh in. There went $400. Oh well, theres always next time... Afterwards, I took the fish over to a friend's house and her dad cooked 'em up for us. Not a bad way to end the day. All in all, I definitely don't regret my decision to postpone the paper and project I have due this week to go fishing.
