Just a reminder about our upcoming Month long cobia tournament starting May 1st. Only $50 entry fee. Looks like it is going to be a early cobia season. Only have 2 seats left in our FREE Cobia Seminar April 28th. Might have to open a third seminar time on the 28th if we need too.

Capt. Joe Shute's Bait & Tackle Tournament Series for 2012



May 2012 - Cobia Tournament for the month of May.



This tournament will last from May 1st thru May 31st.



Prizes- Capt. Joe's will guarantee a Cash prize of $500 for the largest cobia weighed in at Capt. Joe Shute's Bait & Tackle. The balance of the cash prizes will be based on 90% pay back of entry fees. 10% of entry fees will be used for operating cost .Capt. Joe's will award a $50 gift Certificate for the largest cobia weighed in each week of the tournament. Capt. Joe’s will also award a $50 Gift Certificate for the most cobia weighed in by an entrant that weigh over 50 lbs. during the cobia tournament. Entrants are eligible for more than one prize.



Rules- Tournament will start 12:00am Tuesday, May 1st and end at 7 pm Thursday May 31st, at the close of business hours.



All Cobia will be weighed at Capt. Joe Shute's Bait & Tackle Official N.C Weigh Station scales.



To be eligible for prizes and to fish the tournament, anglers must pay their entry fee prior to their first day of fishing in the tournament.



Cobia may be brought to the scales either by boat or by vehicle.



All Cobia weighed in and the anglers name will be posted daily on Capt. Joe Shute’s web-site. Weekly winners names will be posted as well.



Only one cobia may be weighed per day per entry.



Each entry may weigh in more than one cobia during the tournament



In a case of identical weights, the first cobia brought to the scales will be declared the 1st place winner.



All decisions by Capt. Joe's will be final, and winners will be notified on Friday June 1st.



Entry Fee- The entry fee will be $50 per angler not per boat.

hi capt. joe, thank you very much capt.joe, and your friends for posting about the cobia torm., even thought i can't fish it i still love to hear about it!! i thank you'll again for having it,so i can read about it! capt.joe i have spoke to you over the phone a couple of times and you have been so kind and helpfull to me and the products you make and sell i don't know how you make any money on them! you certainly save my wallet so i can fish! i have to get some more tackle from you by dec! to me you are one of the best at representing the saltwater fishing community!!!!! thanks so much capt.joe shute for being here!!!! I have not yet seen a confirmed landing. Should not be long though.

Heard of 2 hooked off of bogue Inlet pier and one caught. Should not be long, if we can get the winds to quit blowing.

Weigh station is at Capt. Joe Shute's Bait & Tackle here in Atlantic Beach. You need to register and pay the $50 fee before fishing. We do not have an on line registation.
