Change the spelling from "allowd" to "aloud" and they might just accept it.

:o ROTFLMAO
Great idea, but those bolts youve used should last about a month and then there will be a bunch of scrap metal lying on the bottom of the gulf.....Have you thought about adding welds to the thing to prolong the life of it?

Awesome! Where can you find regulations on what they allow for reefs? I want to build my own and not sure where to start. Was it a pain to get that permit? I'd be in the Gulf too.

Not a pain at all dude... The guys at the Bama natural resources was awesome to explain what they wanted and not wanted.... weight seem to be the key... steel and concrete... makes them very happy... I had some help from my captain buddies at the marina... Plus Jay from the state was a pretty cool dude.....

Absolutely, bait fish do inside the chain link, so the big boys hang around the outside. Best reefs in the gulf are chain link, only down side is that they only last about 5 years.

or 6 months if mother nature decides to screw us... :( No "H" word here.... hopefully deploying reef tues or weds and already started on next one.... so goal is to drop 4 or 6 a year... materials are cheap... usually scrap stuff... 25.00 bucks to get permited... and the guys at the resource wont charge ya everytime to inspect it... next one will be chain linked!!!

steel drums or plastic drums or anything that looks like a container of hazardous materials is not wanted. Some diver will see it and report them as suspicious and then the state or feds have to go see if they contain bad stuff.
No sheet metal stuff cause it just don'r last long enough.
Use commercial chainlink fence if you can get it cause it is a heavier gage wire and will last longer.

x2 Cool video. Chain link does make a big difference. Looks like it promotes faster coral growth + habitat = more fish!
