I would certainly appreciate it if this group could keep an eye out for my boat which was stolen in New Orleans last Thursday (3/29/12).
The hull is a 1999 24 foot Cape Horn Offshore powered by twin 2009 Yamaha 150 Four Strokes. The hull is all white with dark blue canvas T-top fabric and a Garmin HD radar dome. The whole rig is sitting on an aluminum Loadmaster tandem axle trailer.
This was stolen from my neighborhood in New Orleans (Lakeview).
I can be reached at any time at (504)390-8686 or via email at
[email protected] Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the responses.
Yes, this is Rob's old boat. I bought it from him just about a year ago.

Tell us the circumstances of how it was taken if you don't mind. Day or night? Were you home? Were neighbors home? Where was it located on your property? Any locks broken? Any security cameras in the area...stores, banks etc? NOPD won't do anything for you. I hope you have good insurance and I hope this is random rather than the beginning of a trend like FL has seen. Sorry bro, that's a darn fine boat.

The boat was parked in a family member's side yard in a residential neighborhood (New Orleans; Lakeview, between I-10 and Harrison Ave; City Park side of Canal Blvd). It was last seen at 9:30 AM on Thursday (3/29). The neighbor came home at 10:30 AM and "thought that something was missing," but didn't realize that it was the boat until we spoke later that evening (I noticed it missing at 5:15 PM). We assume that it was taken between 9:30 and 10:30 AM. Nobody was home at the time.
The hitch lock was cut off and found in the grass about 10 feet from where it was parked. There are no cameras at the house where it was parked, but several neighbors do have cameras, and we're hoping that we can at least get a shot of the vehicle towing it down the street.

I am very familiar with that area. It's generally very low crime. Somebody was laying in wait for the right moment. It would be nice if engine manufacturers would serialize the major components of engines. That would make it much more difficult to unload hot parts.
