Repowering my 2002 36 Contender from OX's to 2006 275 Verados- made the first run today-

My AP21 had a plunger to one of the steering tie bars- I assume this to be the rudder reference- is there a kit to tie this in, and plumb the steering pump? Or am I looking a whole new set-up? I roamed throught Simrad's website, didn't see what I was looking for-

thanks!

Randy

I am not sure which pilot you have, but Teleflex makes a new plunger style feedback called the Smartstick which might help you out. Its called the rudder feedback unit, it just measures where the engines are. Its a common sense thing to mount. Hard for me to advise you via the internet witout being able to see the actual boat. But check out the Teleflex Smartstick and see if it looks like something you could mount to your setup.

I just typed a long reply and stupid THT timed out. Uhh. I am not sure what kind of pilot you ave, but more than likely you can make use of the new Teleflex Smartstick. It is a new plunger style rudder reference unit that can likely mount to your setup. Its hard for me to advise you on this via the net without seeing the boat.

Pretty sure it is a Simrad AP 21, original to the boat, I'd bet. I'll get some part #'s and pics this weekend.

Did a search on Glen E's site, it appears my current pump won't work with the Verado helm, and I'll need a Vrod specific kit to mount the feedback set-up.

thanks!

Randy
