I have canvass covers that I use to protect the upholstery from the elements. Upon removing the covers there is always a yellow/ orange/red color where the canvass and upholstery touch. These colors fade rather quickly once the covers are removed, but not totally. Anyone have a theory as to why this occurrs, if it damages the upholstery, and/or what can be done to either stop the color change or protect the padding.
thanks in advance,
Mike

Mike, give me a call. There are several things that come to mind.
1st, it is apparent that moisture is still getting in. What color are the 2 pieces you are working with and what color is the foam in the cushions?
2nd, How old are the canvas covers?
3rd, Sun tan oil is extremely bad for vinyl and will discolor it.
There are lots of other variables. Call me and maybe we can narrow it down.
