OK, the best I did was 2 white numbers and the powerball for 10 bucks. That's about 2 gallons of fuel or a 12pk of Natty. A far cryfrom that island I was about to buy.

Didn't get a single number ... but I didn't buy a lottery ticket, either. :grin:

I got one number out of six so...........let's see, one sixth of $640 Million is ... uh.. hang on. Anyway I'm one rich bastard now!

I won $16 but lost $44

I didn't have a number, but it seems I know one of the winners.

Apparently, one of the foreign exchange students from the high school I went to, bought a ticket while visiting the USA. He's back in his home country and doesn't have the cash to come back to the states. So, I sent him $5K for airfare, etc and he's going to give me 10% of his 1/3 of the ticket. I'm rich!!!!! :grin:

Note to self: Check family tree for any relatives in Kansas, Illinois, and Maryland. ;)

Next Mega Millions drawing is for a $7-million jackpot. After seeing the $1/2-billion jackpot I don't think I could ever be happy with winning only $7-million. :(

After 20 years and not much to show for it I quit playing lottery after the state I live in changed the rules a bunch of times, cut the winnings and declared you can't claim exemption on losing tickets over 1 yr old.

Every time I look at the waste paper basket full of losing tickets I think "I could have bought a bigger boat" :banghead:

Some States pay back as little as 35% from what I heard on the radio today. But they all advertise 50%. The Casino's in CT payback over 95% overall. Ct Lotto started as a 50% payback and is now at about 60% for some reason.

And yes they change the rules here and you only have 6 months to claim!
