Just bought my first Deere. It's a new to me GT242 garden tractor and in mint condition. For those that have tractors and/or riding mowers... What brand and model do you run?

2005 Huskvarna YTH2448. 24 hp Briggs twin and 3 blade 48" cut...

Handles my 3 acres fairly well.

Only 340 hrs total...I looked at the 48" Deere and should have bought one. I have had some steering/suspension issues with the Husky. Has some cheap parts on it...but nothing I couldn't modify...

John Deere GX335 with 52" deck....Honestly, I've never had a problem with it, but for the money, I'm not all that impressed. Had it about 6 years.

$1000 "Yardman" (YardMachine) from Lowe's, 42" cut, 18hp Briggs, 10 yrs and only replaced blades and batt's. Take care of your stuff and it will last. Though I have borrowed friends zero turn a few times and REALLY want one, just can't justify the price. They look at me like a fool considering the boat I just bought, LOL.
50hp 4x4 Deere for work.

If you are going to buy a Deere, buy a REAL one, ones sold at a Deere dealer...not at HD or Lowes...

The small diesel lawn tractors? Awesome machines! Front and rear PTOs, shaft driven decks...but at $10K plus a pop? Better like that tractor...

I am looking to replace my 8 year old craftsman. I wish I could buy that one again. All the lawn tractors I look at, even Deere and Husqvarna, look so cheap.

I basically could not find anything this side of $2k that looked like it would hold up, and the customer reviews confirmed that.

I think i'll put a couple of hundred into what i got, or find an older tractor on Craig's list because they don't seem to make them like they used to :(

A Deere from the John Deere Store. Much better quality than those purchased at Lowes or Depot.
