The screen on my Garmin 2006c chart plotter is so fogged and "bubbled" I cant see through it. Unit is working when I catch glimpses of it. Garmin wont repair it; too old, told me to get a new unit. I will, I will buy a Lowrance unit, if I cant get a new glass. Anyone know where I can get a new screen installed? Typically Garmin wont stand by their products even when they admit the coating was faulty from the beginning.
Many thanks in advance.

Garmin will stand by them, but your unit is really beyond a reasoanable time for them to repair it. They have to draw the line at some point. If you plan to scrap it if you can't find a shop to repair it then may I suggest you pull it apart, get the part number of fthe display, then google it. its probably available in some shape or form. At that point you can take it to an electronics shop to be replaced.

Thanks much; I tried the polish treatment you suggested and the screen is more clear than when the unit was new. You saved me 1600.00 for I was going to purchase a Lowrance HD 8 unit. Why didnt Garmin techs tell me how to resolve the problem so simply? Took me less than 5 minutes to remove the old coating. Thanks again. mo

Glad I could help. They might not even know about that. I decided to try after using it on headlights. Now I use it on everything. Again glad to help

Just saw this... Windex will remove the old screen coating as well. Glad you got it off.
