Battery Recall Latest Setback for Fisker Karma

http://www.thedetroitbureau.com/2012/03/battery-recall-latest-setback-for-fisker-karma/

Equally interesting is the Consumer Reports test of the Fisker Karma...

Fisker Karma dies during Consumer Reports Test. Consumer Reports tester says, he would not drive this car outside of cell phone range.

Never mind that Fisker sent production of this car overseas despite recieving US federal subsidies.

How many of our tax dollars went this company again? ;?

It's not about success. It's about "feeling" good just trying. That's the liberal way.:):):)

With the approval of the Obama administration, an electric car company that received a $529 million federal government loan guarantee is assembling its first line of cars in Finland, saying it could not find a facility in the United States capable of doing the work.

Vice President Joseph Biden heralded the Energy Department's $529 million loan to the start-up electric car company called Fisker as a bright new path to thousands of American manufacturing jobs. But two years after the loan was announced, the company's manufacturing jobs are still limited to the assembly of the flashy electric Fisker Karma sports car in Finland....

Wow. Just this week I was actually looking into A123, trying to figure out if their stock might be worth buying. After reading this article, I'm glad I passed on that.

What you guys don't understand is that gas hits $10 / gallon, these $40k cars that go 10 miles will be a huge success. Wait for it....wait for it...

If you also read the article, you would see the loans are politically motivated. It is a loan guarantee that the American taxpayer is on the hook for. Wouldyou not rather see this loan go to a US business manufacturing in the US?

Do you think it is in the governments best interest to be funding the electric car pipe dream?

Keep the blinders on.

Study: $12.50 Gas Would Make Chevy Volt Cost-Effective

According to the Lundberg Survey (http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/03/21/us-electriccars-idUSBRE82K06T20120321), the price of a gallon of gas would need to rise to $12.50 before the Volt would be cost-effective for consumers.

I was pissed off when i read the headline here on THT.

Then I read the article and saw the money was never given... so now I'm happy again.

Yes I would absolutely like to see the money go to someone in the US, well, I'd rather it not be spent at all...but that's another argument.

How about a civic with a 70mpg diesel. Gubmint wouldn't have to spend nothing just relax regulations on diesel engines under 2.0 liter. That's way too easy.

This is an example of what happens when a president fills his administration with people that have Zero business experience. Sometime ago I saw that Obama's metrics on this parameter (people appointed with significant business experience in their background) was an all time low...going back into the late 1800's.

Clueless...

Fiskars makes great scissors and garden equipment. :) Here in Atlanta metro, MARTA is going bankrupt yet the douce bag politicians want a high speed rail line, what schmucks.
