I have a 2011 Carolina Skiff 218 DLV and am about to install a stereo.
I purchased a Fusion MS-RA200 to install in the center console and will install two speakers in the console with possibly two more under the front deck.
My question is ... if I want to add an amplifier to this setup
what is best way to wire this? The amp would have to be installed inside the console. But it appears the existing wiring to the console from the batteries uses 10 gauge wires. The amp I am looking at states that 8 gauge or heavier wiring should be used ... and the black (ground) should not be longer than 39".
Complicating this is the fact that I have a dual battery
installation in the transom with a Perko battery switch.
Any suggestions would be appreciated ... including if you think I should forego the amplifier and two additional speakers.
Thanks.
