I will be installing a Lowrance HDS7 gen. 2 w/ insight mapping (no structure scan) and transducer this weekend. It will be going on a Skeeter ZX24V. Anything I should be aware of before I start the install?

Thanks.

If you are using a transom mount transducer do not drill holes into your transom until you are sure the transducer will function properly in that location. Use some industrial strength double sided tape to hold it in place and test. It will hold it up to about 20-25mph.

I went with an air Mar p-79 for in hull mount and have never lost bottom even at wot. I like not having cable outside and nothing hanging below the hull.
