Saw there is a show on NGC channel(276 Direct TV) next Sunday at 10pm

It appears to be another type of reality tv show following those that catch Bluefin Tuna

Haven't seen any previews just saw something in the listing

I saw an episode on the NGC website and was not impressed. Basically a bunch of boats with no plan following another guys boat around. They seemed clueless without the other boat leading the way.

Natgeo will be featuring a new series involving commercial fisherman who cast net mullet for a living ..............It will be filmed in Panacea Fla should be high drama at its finest

I watched it last night, I thought it was a good show. At least the fish has a sporting chance since they are fishing with hook and line. I thought it was interesting that they could tell when a fish was coming up to their baits from the fish graph. They could also tell how many fish were coming up to their baits.

That's what I thought also. I thought it was pretty funny when the other boats called the guy who was apparently the best fisherman (boat name Tuna.com) and asking him for location numbers and then they cry about it when he gives them bogus info, and they knew beforehand that he gives out bogus info. Here's an idea - don't call the guy that gives out bogus info.

From what I watched, they should change the name to "Wicked Potlicking". Am I wrong, or did all the other boats just follow Tuna.com around and complain that he didn't tell them where and how to fish?

I just watched it from my DVR. It was ok. I'll watch next week. I bet it is easier for a bottom machine to see 300# + fish rather than the 8# kings and 5# dolphin that congregate under my boat.

They saw the bottom netter coming from way off. They know how long their rode is. They see the course of the netter. They sit there and wait for their anchor to get snagged. They yell and cuss at the other boat who throws dead fish at them.

Made for TV like everything else.

The show was horrible. Pert near unwatchable. These guys made the idiots from Gold Rush seem like a bunch of mensa members.

Watched it last night on DVR. I haven't been that bored in a long time. I will give it another chance to redeem itself.

Boring?

Not to me.

Still fishing for a 500 pound tuna...I'll sit there for as long as it takes.

When that pole nods and the drag screams...I'm a happy guy.

My best is a 25 pound Chinook salmon.

Loved the boats though.
I can see me calling other fishermen for their numbers... Yeah.

Why are they always from Gloucester? I love that line from Perfect Storm.

They really did go out of their way to make tuna.com look like the antagonist. I don't get it. From what I saw, they'd be the only crew I would be willing to fish with. They go out and make it happen. Other captains just seemed to be waiting for a handout. I can't stand cell phone fisherman and muggers.

All in all, I while 2/3 of the captains annoyed me and I can't stand that accent, I will watch it again. I have been waiting far too long for a show like this to come along.

It's not that simple, more often than not the dragger will turn before he gets to you. not worth your time to haul your anchor and sit and wait to see what he does. not to mention the rule of good seamanship would dictate that even though the guy is dragging he should maneuver around boats at anchor. It can be pretty gnarly when you do get your anchor towed up, heard some baaaddddd stories.

Okay, gave it a second chance with episode 2. The introduction of Capt. Ralph and "Pirate" made it more interesting. I'm also intrigued by the special they ran a graphic for at the bottom of the page called "Superfish".
