I have had a Garmin 440s for several years and am looking to upgrade to newer technology. I like the Lowrance and Humminbird systems with the new sidescan technology, but I want to get the best GPS view. It looks like I need to plan on getting a chip for improved maps. What do you recommend? I am looking at the HDS7 from Lowrance and the Humminbird 898C. Any thoughts or suggestions on these units and the proper map upgrades would be appreciated. I typically am in less than 10 feet of water so will I get any benefit from the side imaging?
