Marine Electronics Forum - Wet sounds or JL amp?

Hi,

I currently have two pairs of JL 7.7 CCS on my boat. The car amp I had in it just took a crp so I'm looking for a good marine amp. I was running a rockford fosgate P500/4 and it sounded great. Loud and very clear. It only lasted 8 months due to a wet console and me unknowlingly installing it upside down.

Anyways, I thinking about either getting a JL 600/6 or the Wet Sounds Syn 4. I want to get another pair of 7.7 in near future so I want an amp that could handle 3 pairs of speakers. What amp do yo guys recommend? Also, open to other brands around that price range.

I have never heard or seen the wetsounds, but I own JL amps and don't think you can go wrong. I also have the 7.7's hooked up and they sound amazing......as you would expect.

Wetsounds has an outstanding reputation as does JL Audio. Coin flip IMHO. MB Electronics sell Wetsounds if I am not mistaken. Good guy! He sold me a Garmin 720S for a soild price. He usually posts on these boards all of the time.

Best amp for your current setup, Fusion MS DA51600. Having said this, it only supports 2 pairs of speakers + sub.

6 Channel amps are tough. JL and Wet Sound are pretty much the only game in town. Both are expensive.
