I have a backup handheld Garmin GPSMAP 76 that freezes right after it locks on to satellites. screen goes more or less blank and no buttons respond. I have to take out the batteries to shut it down.

it's a six year old unit, barely ever used. A software problem? Anybody else have this issue?

Sadly, reinstalling bluecharts or any of the Garmin software may be an issue because I have no PCs at home, only macs.
