This was on the news last night and paper today, seems the guys boat got away from him at the ramp/dock and he jumped in to try and get it. Sad because it is a very small lake and people always on it and could have had help in few minutes

ABBEVILLE — Authorities say a 50-year-old Anderson man apparently drowned in Lake Secession in Abbeville County while trying to retrieve his boat.
Abbeville County Coroner Ronnie Ashley said that Bobby Ray Jones was putting his boat into the water around 11 a.m. Friday when it started to drift away.
Witnesses say Jones jumped off the dock to get his boat and bring it back, but never resurfaced.
Investigators say a dive team found Jones' body under about 20 feet of water around 90 minutes later.
Ashley says he ordered an autopsy to confirm how Jones died.

Pretty sad situation. A man goes out for a little fishing and just doesn't come back. My heart goes out to his family.

Something don't sound right. He must have died from a heart attack from the cold water or something. Very sad

Very sad- I almost jumped over once to retrieve a sinking chartplotter cover while out alone, thought better of it at the last second as it was pretty windy and I envisioned the boat getting away from me.
