I dont normally listen to it but I am tonight. All I can say is Jimmy Buffett CANT sing!! His old stuff is good but his new stuff, with the exception of Bama Breeze, SUCKS!!

Am I the only one who thinks this?

Beg to differ, JB has some great older tunes, "He went to Paris" is one of my all time favorites. He may only have a dozen or so "Classic" songs but he does have some very good if not great music. Like him as a person? No, but his music can be enjoyable.

I listen to it for the reggae and mellow carribean tunes. Makes me feel like I`m back in the islands. I`ll have to try 23. Buffet`s old stuff is great. I have to agree about the new stuff, a lot of his new stuff I have only heard in live concert mode verses the studio recordings so its sort of hard to judge if he`s getting bad as he`s getting older. Either way it`s JB.

JB = good marketing. That's it.

The ONLY redeeming value to satellite radio is the Metropolitan Opera channel. They play tapes of operas performed back into the 1960's. It is good stuff. The rest of sat radio just sucks the big one. The audio quality of sat radio is on par with the flushing of a toilet.

It sounds fine to me. But after working on tugboats for 10 years and sleeping over a pair of 2000 hp engines doesnt really help my hearing.

I've been to several Buffett concerts and ate more than one or two cheeseburgers at a Margaritaville restaurant. Buffett will be the first one to admit he's just an average guitar player with an OK vocal to go with it. As mentioned above, the magic of Buffett is his ability to tell a story and atleast for a few moments transport you from reality and just kick back and enjoy life. And to his credit, he's taken a part time summer job and managed to make quite the living doing it.

I usually turn to radio Margaritaville when I am stuck in traffic. His voice does suck but I still enjoy some of his songs.

Agree. I never knew how bad he was until I started listening to radio margaritaville. I must have been really drunk at all of those JB concerts to think they were so great.

His earlier stuff was much better.

I like most of his music, but all of it does kind of sound the same. Jimmy Buffett and Bob Marley those are our boat tunes

JB has his place and I agree he is selling a lifestyle that many want. Entertainment is supposed to remove you from the stress of reality for a bit.
