Just got my Simrad WM-2 up and running with an NSS7 but am only seeing forecast options for the East Coast, specifically the Boston area, yet I'm in the Seattle area.

I looked in the very slim manual and didn't find any way to reset it or force it to use another location. Specifically, I'm trying to get the daily marine forecast for Puget Sound....

Any help appreciated.

Funny you mentioned that. I'm using the Mariner pacakge and haven't been able to view the data excpet for the Mass area. The other thing I haven't seen is cloud cover??????

What subscription plan are you using?

That's the same thing I'm seeing - forecasts for Boston/Massachusetts area. I have the Mariner plan, and just noticed after I posted this last night that I can't see cloud cover either. All I can see is rain/precip and wind, plus sometimes I can get wind from local stations.

When I signed up for the plan, they said the Voyager plan, which was $20 more per month, was only for people who wanted 3-5 day forecasts and lots more forward looking information. The Mariner plan had instant information as well as text forecasts for the next few days, which seemed like enough to me...

Anyone else seen things like this? I left the WM-2 on for 2 days thinking that maybe it needed time to figure out where it was via GPS, but it's still only offering Boston/Mass area as the forecast source. It also doesn't appear to be doing cloud cover at all.

Nope. Probably time for one of us to call Sirius/XM as we're paying for something we're not getting. This is one of the top 3 reasons I got the service - for the text forecasts.

Thanks to Dennis Hogan Simrad Product Manager for the NSS/NSE/NSO series.

To change Marine Zones follow these instructions:
1) From the Chart Panel, Select MENU, Weather Options, Marine Zones, Choose. Press Enter.
2) Use the Zoom buttons to zoom out to view the area of interest. You will probably need to zoom out to view the entire US.
3) Using the touchscreen, select the narrow coastal ribbon along the west/east coast.
4) Press Zoom In 2 more times until you see the different coastal forecast zones for your area of interest.
5) Using the touchscreen, select desired zone.
6) Press Accept in lower left of screen if you want to keep this zone as default, or press Forecast if you simply want to view the forecast for this zone but keep previous selection as default.

This is not a Sirius issue the info is there as Dennis pointed out the manual was not clear.

Here's waht you get ......

From this display select the zone of interest then press accept.

I must say XM zone forecasts are so much easier to use. The are displayed all the time for ALL zones.

One other item ..... Dennis also said the WM 2 will not display cloud cover because the function is not enabled on the WM 2 side. Sirius is providing the data as advertised.
