looking to buy a used handheld and would like to know what the best battery set is? I know some dont last so long and have memories,etc.

What you want for best performance, life, hold of charge are Eneloop NiMh batteries.
I'm guessing that your handheld uses double A's.. but I believe these batteries can also be had in triple A... just google eneloop.
