Hope somebody here works for them that can help me out

Long story short, back in Dec got a call from Charter Communications about phone service. I currently have 3 lines + internet at my office (voice mail, call hunting-rolls over to available line) and we are paying $300 month

Charter rep and I talk and they can actually cut my bill by more than in HALF to less than $134 month

Not sure about ya'll but I am a loyal customer so I call ATT after reviewing Charter's offer and just to give them opportunity for which customer service rep was very nice and appreciative. After short discussion and she offered same deal and that was fine, faxed me contract/agreement and I signed and sent back to her.

Well 2 months later still paying old rate and my Secretary has spent an honest 6 hours on phones( I have at least 2 hours)attempting to get new rate and to give us credit for when we signed agreement .

SOMEBODY is ALWAYS GONNA CALL BACK with in 2-3 days.

Well today I had enough, in fact I am sitting on hold with ATT going into my second hour now while I type this.. Needless to say I am pissed and don't have time for this.

Took over one phone call today and got "disconnected":mad:

Took care of few clients and got folder from Secretary, shut my door and started on phone. After one helpful guy I got transferred to some jack ass that basically told me tough and if I did not like what I HE TOLD me I could go with other company:mad: He actually laughed when he told me that
His name is Jonathon and his ATT ID is JI453C, one of the most UNPROFESSIONAL people I have EVER DEALT WITH on this level

Finally found phone number on original agreement dated 1/24/12 that I sent back to them and called that rep but got some person in her department . Very apologetic and seemed to take care of my issues withing 15 minutes and told me my plan was started today and they would go back to 1/24/12 and honor agreement (I will hold my breathe;?;?)

Moral of story if you get a better deal on you phone service TAKE IT AND DO NOT SCREW with ATT

My RAGE FOR TODAY, feel like MAD MAX ON John Boy and Billy:mad::grin:

Charter ain't any better...sucks you in with a teaser rate and then breaks it off in you after your deal expires.
I am stuck with them now...the only other alternative to anything other than dial-up internet access is Frontier, and they suck even more.

My wife always get results by e-mailing a letter to the CEO.

Also always, always get the name of the rep you spoke with, what time and date you called, how long you were on the phone and where the rep was located and if they have an id number.

Has always worked like a charm for us. Never had issue with AT&T though.

Something similar happened to me except I was stupid enough to switch to ATT. They overcharged me the first few months and promised to adjust the bill. Never did. Ok so I switched back to the other company. ATT didn't like it so they sent me to collection stating that I broke contract with them. Out of principle I fought collection and agreed to pay ~300.00 instead of the ~1500.00 ATT wanted to opt out of the contract.

Fast forward three years, last week an ATT rep called and said "Our records show that you were a past customer, what is it going to make you a current one again?":bashhh: I promptly tore them a new one and not being able to repeat some of the things I said. Paraphrasing, I told them "When they get their heads out their behinds and realize that sometimes the customers are right and that they pay your bills come back and talk to me. Oh, and get me on your do not call list. You are wasting valuable time in my day." Rant over. I hate ATT landline service. My cell phones are through ATT and I almost switched out of principle but my wife stopped me. Their cellular service on the other hand has been great.

I was gonna say next time you talk to a rep, get his/her ATT UID. Sounds like you did that already. Yes, I work for AT&T, and one of the biggest gripes I hear is quality of customer service. I will go out of my way to make the customer happy even when it becomes a disadvantage to me on my customer dispatch time.

Why should we have loyalty with these big companies, when they have NO loyalty to us?

I used to negotiate comm contracts for a top 500 company. Our annual costs hit in the range of #30 mill of which $20-22 went to ATT. ATT was the worst of all the carriers to deal with. On one occasion as our ATT contract was getting ready to expire (we negotiated new contracts at least 18 months in advance) they sent one of their senior (female) reps to head the negotiating team. She was demeaning, rude and proceed to tell me what we would have to accept as a package. I lasted one meeting and, at the second meeting I began by announcing we wouldn't need att services anymore, and i left the room. I got a call from the gals boss a few hours later and told him that negotiations were off so long as she was on their team. She was out job hunting a few hours later. Of all the comm companies we dealt with, att was at the top on the difficulty list.

Didn't read all the comments that other posted but I will tell you that Charter really sucks as well. I bundled everything together and it was a pain in the ass. It took three trips to get the internet working. Then a service call atleast once every two weeks for about 2 months. At one point the could only get the internet to work on one of our computers. They wanted me to rent their modem just because they felt that is was easier than trying to figure out why their modem and my router weren't talking. Also at one point they told me that "maybe you will only be able to use internet on one of your computer, something is obviously wrong with all your other ones." I hate charter, but we finally got it straight and i just don't want to mess with changing it now because all the big companies suck.

AT&T consistently rates at the bottom of every survey when it comes to customer service. Someone else already said it. They are so big, they can screw you and not give a damn. I was so relieved when the deal for them to suck up T-Mobile fell though. Every company that is eliminated means we have fewer choices and that these surviving companies can treat us like crap because we will have no place else to go.

Garmin uses AT&T as their cell provider for the GDL40 weather receiver. Just installed one on my boat. Hope it goes ok.

You think that's bad? That's a cake walk compared to CommieCast for cable/Internet.
I still say that their customer care department is junior high school project!
We have them for place at the beach and they are absolutely pathetic.

Yep, I had my fill of ATT years ago with my wireless service, paid the early cancellation fee and moved on. Within a few weeks they were calling me stating how they missed my business...

Today I'll be trying to once again cancel my Sirius XM service on a vehicle I sold months ago...
and
What the heck am I paying Time Warner Cable for? 150 channels of non-stop commercials and advertisements...

It never ends...

No wonder I'm on this site so often. It's a respite from all the crap we all deal with every freakin day.
