I have a TM270 that I currently use with a Furuno 620 and have been contemplating changing my electronics to all Simrad. Would my TM270 be fully compatible with the BSM1 or NSS7/8 units if the cable is terminated with a Simrad / Lowrance connector?

Just order one of these to replace your current cable and you'll be goood to go http://www.boemarine.com/Airmar_Mix_AND_Match_Cable-MM1-DST-BL/

Thanks, that was what I was hoping for. I was at the NE Boat Show the other day and the Simrad rep gave a great demo and overview of the new NSS units. I was quite impressed.
Not sure if I can justify a complete change out of my Garmin mfd, weather and radar at this time but may consider one of the NSS units to replace the 620 and get a back up GPS at the same time.
