I ordered 4 Dacroment brake assys from Eastern Marine and promptly received them on Friday afternoon. Upon inspection of the units I noticed a 4 to 5 inch wet spot in the bottom of one of the boxes. The Piston in the caliber was wet and had fluid in it. Monday morning I called Eastern and spoke with Greg? He said that he would contact Kodiak and see if they would send a direct caliber replacement. Cameron from Kodiak asked for pictures. I emailed Pic's of the wet shipping box and a picture of the piston seal that to me looked deformed. Return email from Cameron stated that it was probily leaking from the plugged inlet to the caliber and that if I had future problems return it under their three year warranty. I expect a new nonleaking caliber. Not try it and if it leaks after installation return it.
If Kodiak does'nt resolve the issue I am sure Eastern will exchange the brake assembly under their 30 day policy. So far Eastern has been very customer friendly. Kodiak service? I will find out and repost.
Thanks for letting me vent.------UPDATE----
Kodiaks excellent customer service comes thru with a new caliper. I think I needed to have a little more patience.
