Hey Guys

In the past you were real good @ finding some odd ball parts for me. I was the guy with the anodes that were listed incorrectly in the parts book.

I'm looking to replace my older Quicksilver ignition switch. I don't like the look of the "cheap" cole hearse and likes. So I'm wondering what you would suggest?

Also the top of my shifter "boot" or the likes is missing. When I purchased the boat last year the seller walked into a local marina to pick up the replacement tilt/trim switch. So I know those are still available. When I need encapsulates that switch into the shifter. However if a NOS shifter was gathering dust on a shelf somewhere I would love to have that too. ;)

Suggestions?

As Always Thanks Much!

Hi Tommy,

i don't have anything used in either the key switch assy, or the control.

How does the control feel shifting and throttling otherwise?

Andy

Hi Andy

Aside from the occasional "growl" when shifting into reverse and having to hunt slightly for Neutral it seems fine. Fine for a 20+ year old piece of equipment that is.

Looking at the switch/Harness I'm guessing it's the Orig one from 1988 (2 stroke) and when the boat was re-powered in 2004 with the Merc 115 4 Stroke they used the existing harness. Does that sound about right?

Short of replacing the entire harness do I have any other options for replacing the switch.

Oh.. and file this under what the @#$% is this. It's a push momentary switch of sorts that's mounted near the ignition switch. One lead goes to the black/yellow on the ignition switch. The other is ganged to the ground bus for the fuel gauge. Could this be some sort of kill switch that's missing the lanyard?

I think Merc offers a switch with terminals that you would have to cut and crimp connectors on. Since you are in salt water, I would recommend replacing the entire harness.

That looks like a emergency lanyard switch.
