Dave, welcome to THT! I had you make me a Sunbrella T-top replacement last year and couldn't be happier! The top looks great and was a breeze to install following your instructions.
Thanks again for your help and you can't beat your pricing.
I have mentioned your shop here several times, hoepfully you have gotten some work out of it.
Keep up the good work, Rodger

Thanks, I appreciate that very much. I have been getting some business from this site due to yourself and maybe 1 or 2 other folks. That's why I decided to advertise. My Dad always said, "If you want to catch fish, go to where they are biting".
Your words are very kind, and thanks again.

Thanks Dave and the A-Team shop for a great looking T-Top replacement.
I took advantage of Dave's Christmas/New Years special and mailed out my old top on 12/31/11 and received my new one yesterday, 1/7/2012. A very quick turn around even considering the USPS. The top looks awesome and very professionally sewn, I'll be installing next week, but do not foresee any problems.
Thanks again A-Team,
Bill

How hard is it to install new canopy on t top
Not an idiot but never done anything like that
Not hard at all. A caveman could do it. A lot like lacing your shoes one you get the rhythm.
If you've never done it before, it will take 1/2 hour to 45 minutes once the old one has been removed. I send easy to follow instructions with pics. Also, I send zip ties to post the corners prior to lacing along with the rope if you want it.
Call me if you wish

Wish you were closer. I'd get you to remove and re-install my t-top stuff after putting the new canvass on... actually, I prefer vinyl if you can get a good fabric hem on the underside.
In the vinyls, you have a choice of Weblon or Herculite. As with all the T-Top covers I make, I add 1-1/2" facing on the underside, neatly stitched in with a 1/2" fold. I also bind the outer edge.
Call me and let's see if I have something to offer to accommodate your needs

Just wanted to say A Team Canvas made a canvas enclosure with a couple wings for my CC this week. They gave a good price, showed up when they said they would, finished it when they said they would and provided a great product. This is my second experience with A Team, and I would recommend them to anyone.

I got my T Top cover and installed it today. It fit perfectly, and it is very professionally made. There is no way anyone could make one of better quality. You did a wonderful job and I am 100% satisfied. Thanks Dave.

Thanks Elijah, but I cannot take all the credit. Pat yourself on the back because you supplied me with everything I asked for.

It looks like more and more folks are using ty-wraps instead of lacing with rope.
My understanding is the black ty-wraps hold up longer in the sun. Is that true?
Once cut, where do you orient the "knot"..?
Black tie-wraps outlast the white ones, but I see no advantage to using them instead of rope unless you have no antennas, etc mounted on top and you want to remove it for a long road trip. They become brittle with no notice at all and you could lose your cover. I will be happy to make you a new cover at that time, but why take a chance. Let's see, .... a pack of black zip ties with the ugly little square plug hidden atop somewhere for $5-8 or buy the 1/8" black solid braid nylon rope from me for $10.
You know, the black rope is very hard to find unless you have a source and purchase 1000' rolls. That could be part of the equation. The white rope turns green with mildew in time too. That is why I only carry the black.
And while we are on the subject, in my years of experience, I have come to notice that :
* black zippers outlast the white ones 3 to 1
* black thread outlasts the white thread almost 2 to 1
The knot gets tied at the aft end of you T-Top cover, in the center, on top. I personally am a terrible knot tier, but once it is tied, no one will ever see it.
Hope this helps

speaking of zippers, i have a white one on my t top and it is stuck. I have tried everything i know of so far and cannot un zip it. I do not see any salt build up but I know it must be there somewhere. Any tips on freeing up the zippers. thanks.
If it is not offline, nor corroded, then one thing comes to mind immediately; the #10 zippers have a little metal lock in them and only release when pulled OUTWARD while trying to slide down. Even when brand new, they are stubborn unless you pull out first. Try tieing a small 1/8" string onto the zipper pull and making a 3" finger pull for it and then try it out. You may have to jiggle it at first, but you will be remarkably impressed when you use it from now on.
Now if you have a double sided pull, it doesn't matter. These locks work with whatever one you choose to use. Incredible design and simplistic.
If this s not the case, I'll be surprised. Email me back and let me know the turnout.

spray the zipper with a silicone spray
By all means lubricate the zipper. Sorry I forgot to mention that.
Silicone spray works well for short turn, but evaporates quickly.
Some use paraffin wax (candle wax) on a working zipper and snaps.
Some use Vaseline on a working zipper and snaps

Is $249 still a valid price?
90% of our T-top covers sell for $249. Pricing is as follows:
$249 standard "trampoline style" up to 60" wide x 108" long. Additional cost 'may" apply if wider or longer. I'm very fair about this.
$20 more if it goes over the sides; therefore causing additional work in the corners and/or other places.
$10 more if you want the black solid braid nylon rope for lacing included,
$65 more if you need a U-Zipper in it.
$30 more if you need reenforced Rod Slots cut in directly over the console.
Red, Yellow, Burgundy, Orange are colors Sunbrella considers "Premium" colors and therefore a very modest upcharge will be applied to cover our cost on those colors.
Call me when you are ready, and we can go over what the cost will be for yours.
Thanks,

Looks to be nice work. Definitely interested! What grade of Sunbrella Marine fabric are you using? Standard, Plus, or Supreme?
We use the Standard Marine Grade, but will use whatever customer wants.
Plus and Supreme costs more, and I charge only what my increase is. No gouging !!!

And while we are on the subject, in my years of experience, I have come to notice that :
* black zippers outlast the white ones 3 to 1
* black thread outlasts the white thread almost 2 to 1
the reason for this is there is more pigment in the black be it plastic zipper , thread or canvas blocking the uv exposure . just like a black umbrella next to a white one will have better shade.
Thanks, that makes more sense to me than a lot of other things I've heard.

What's the average turn around time? I'm in Tampa
Turn around time is 2 weeks or less.
Depending on my work load, it may vary a day or two longer, but 97% of the time is is under 2 weeks.

Dave, Would like to replace my t-top canvas, but concerned about electronics going through being sealed & look good. Radar dome, 2- GPS modgels, vhf radio ant. Also have hunter green. Can I do a templete for you, as I use my boat almost on a daily basis? I probably would hire some help to install. NICK
Nick,
I would be happy to go over those details with you, but would like to do so over the phone so that we are both clear on it all.
Yes, you can make a template and we can go over that as well. It is very simple.
T-Top replacement covers are what I specialize in and take great pride throughout the entire process.
Thanks for inquiring,
