i am headed to nantucket for the weekend to try and catch some bonita and false abacore. does anyone have any reports, where and what they are hitting on. I paln on great point or the bar at first light.

Not quite ACK, but yesterday started at the Hooter and then over to Tuckernuck. Was hoping for a repeat of good bonito results the week before Irene. Beautiful day and loads of bait/birds -- sand eels at Hooter and smaller bait off Tuckernuck. Many blues (at 7+ mph) but not a funny fish to be found. If bait is small, you may be better-off using small deadly dick or Swedish pimples.

out all morning at great point. All blue fish couple guys on the court. all small blues. hoping to hit the bar in the morning.

We fished the Bonito Bar and the hooter several times just before Irene. Caught a couple at the hooter and only 1 at the bar so far, picking through bunches of blues. Was out at 6 can and Rose & Crown yesterday -- was kind of sporty in the swells and the breakers were pretty impressive. Was rather slow in both spots. Water temps were pretty cold!
