I just bought a Hobie Pro Angler and I need to find good places to kayak. Does anybody have good ideas for must-see kayak destinations in Georgia or North Fla or South Alabama?

Check out the Weeki Wachee area, beautiful river with tons of manatees. It is not as commercial or crowded as Crystal River. There are several rivers in that area worth checking out. You can go straight from fresh to salt marsh in a few minutes so the sights really vary.

Judging from this summer, the best spot for kayaking is between lateral markers in most channels!

I belong to Jax FL meetup group. a few of their members have similar boats. And you can sign up for a trip..

We just did Suwannee (Holten river camp) and are doing the Blackwater...Nov 19th.
That will be awesome. Kayak camp trip.

Ichetucknee is nice.

I did the Chipola with another group. it was good but had some shoals.

BUT not all places are deep enough for the mirage system.
You may have to paddle some..take out the "blades" from time to time.

I highly recommend you join the meetup groups in areas you are interested in..

But the Jax group has at least four very very active members with boats like yours.
(if it is the one with the mirage drive).

Good luck..great..."meeting you".

(I'm not active on this forum..in fact I just joined to answer your question.).

Weekie wachee is nice... I put in at the head spring at weekie..and get a shuttle..instead of paddling up from rogers creek. But it is close to Tampa.

So is Silver river (close to me)..near Ocala (South of Gainesville).

I've kayaked at many places in Tampa & Sarasota.

I don't know much about kayaks, but I have paddled a canoe down Juniper Creek in the Ocala National Forest many times and it is a beautiful run. It has been a few years since I've been there, but I remember quite a few kayaks out there.

Good camping facility at the spring-fed headwaters too at Juniper Springs.
