Anyone know who has a good selection of Ugly sticks in SE Mass or the Cape? I am looking to get my hands on one of their Tiger or Tiger Lite rods.

Of course every tackle store can be more helpful and order them but really want to get my hands on them. I see some West Marine's have them, Walmart at times too. I just moved all my bottom fishing rods to the Ugly Stick Intercoastal series, from all places Walmart and for $40.00 they were perfect for customers.

Just trying to think if I am missing anywhere, lets just say half a dozen stores around the Cape do not have them.

Walmart in Wareham had a good fishing section or Dick's in Plymouth

Some dick' sporting goods have a good selection, i got a tiger lite 80-130.
Trick at dicks is to go in prior and pick up some cheap tackle like sinkers for $2.
Go home an do the online survey and you'll get $10 off your next $50 purchase.

Most local tackle shops will take $10 off for a couple rods.

Red Top has them and Bass Pro has great selection if you want to go off Cape.

I love those Tiger rods, great bass rods. You just cant kill em. I have even taken a few school tuna on them paired with a TLD 20 its a great setup.

Glad to hear good reviews. I had looked at their Tiger Lite jigging rod as a more affordable alternative to the Trevala... had my doubts, though. It was $60 at Dick's when I saw it. Sounds like people have good luck with them, though!

Went over to Red Top and picked up one of the Tiger 7'0 rods paired with a Penn Jigmaster. Funny enough, kid called me out on buying an old school reel! Damn I'm in the my early 30's but made me feel old. I just got sick of the Penn GS555's and their spool level failing. I see the new 555's have the same mechanism as the senators now.

There was a Tiger Lite jigging rod there that was a little slower action, maybe 6'0 almost got that, maybe I will have to go back buy more.

I had the Trevala, sure people love them but something I just didn't like about it when I bottom fished. I was exclusively using Star rods, one of their Stelliate series but it is to pricey for the bottom fish charters. The Ugly stick I got, Walmart Inter Coastal series turned out to be great at $40.00. I just replaced my Diawa Beef Sticks with them, I can see the different in our charter customers and how they fish.

So the other night I was chunking in Vineyard Sound using a Star Rod and a Crowder rod that I have. I used them for trolling as well as drifting the rips. They worked fine for that but this time when I was trying to work my rig back into the rips while at anchor, I couldn't feel the bottom well. So I tried my bottom fishing rig with the sensitive tip and could feel everything, that's how I got back to wanting an ugly stick. I used to write them off as being cheap, we'll they are but they last and are good. I like the Tiger series because they still have enough backbone for bass and sensitive tip.

Oh well, I will review the tiger lite after some fishing tomorrow with the family.

I just ordered a revo toro 60 to pair with an ugly tiger lite. Should be a great combo for bottom and light trolling. Pretty "new tech" vs those old tech penns.

I bought my first Tiger Light two years ago and another this year. Great, great rod. I get mine at Bass Pro shop for $69.
