Planing a 3 day trip to amelia island in about a month. It's a little sentimental for me, when I lived in south Florida I would meet my parents as they would come down from South Carolina. That was 10+ years ago - and they have since passed. Just wanted to hit some place different with a little memories, but don't really know the area. I live in Flagler co. now, and hoping for a little local input.

Places to stay, places to go - overall fishing trends, etc. I'll be bringing up my Ranger 2410 bay boat. Ramps in the area? Looks like the St. Marys inlet is the way out as the Nassau looks tricky? Seems like the St. Marys would be close to just about any place in Amelia. Any thoughts and advice would really be appreciated - thanks!:joincc:

Definitely put in at Fenandina Marina or Amelia Marina and go out of the St Marys inlet. You can fish the inland side of the jettys for trout, etc. and go out to catch tarpon and kings outside. I would stay downtown in Fernandina or a rental on Amelia. There are several good restaurants and bars in downtown Fernandina.

If we're talking Amelia Island Plantation then I seriously doubt they will allow you to trailer your boat into there. With the boat, you would be better off renting a house in Fernandina.
