Hello all,

First off a little about myself. I'm originally from Michigan so I love the great lakes and the north in general. I'm in the Air Force and currently live in Arizona. I would like to hear your guys honest opinion on which motor to put on my new boat.

I'm going to buy a Lowe Fishing Machine 175 Dual console. I have narrowed it down to the merc 115 optimax and the ETEC. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Not much help on engine choice, you may want to repost in the boating forum for a bigger viewership.

Also a big thanks for your service! Being a merc owner for years I'm biased and would suggest the opti. Both are good outboards, most likely I'd choose one that is serviced by a dealer closest to where I live...makes no sense hauling the rig 2 or 300 miles to get it serviced.
