6 guys were fishing on the hard near my boat while I was at the boat today working on it. They were hitting large crappie at a pretty good rate using jigs topped with minnows. I did not put my rods and tackle box on the boat yet so I could not join in on the good fishing. I may head out to the boat just to try to hit the crappie and send some to my freezer.

How long do these spring spawns in shallow protected waters normally last with crappie?
