For as long as I can remember, I have always brined my whole sea clams for ground fishing. Why??? Because dad said to do so. Do I really need to do this? I do think it makes them a bit firmer to stay on the hook a bit longer. What do you guys do?

Kosher salt toughens them up really nice. I use enough so they don't freeze hard in a 10 below freezer:thumbsup:
