Could not believe the habs in this game. The diving was disgraceful. And the worst part is they almost won because of it. That said, I lost a little respect for chara taking that dive in period two. I felt like the habs deserved that shorthanded goal after chara reduced himself to their level and flopped. But the b's were clearly the superior team and they should have won and they did, and the habs can suck a fat one. Play with character! Don't ever get caught up in that flopping crap. Leave the acting for that puss-bag lebron james and the rest of the nba. Go bruins.

You got to luv it....... Twice during the series, the Habs stopped ice play with major injuries on ice. Injuries were so severe, they were both pushed off the ice by their team trainer.
Next shift they are back on the ice. Them Canadians sure heal fast!

It was Price and Price alone that kept them in the series. Both Goalies came up huge, but also at times looked totally mortal.
By the way, what was Thomas thinking behind the net when he handed the Puck to the Canadians?? One minute he looks like a Vezina Trophy lock, the next minute like a House League goalie ;?
Hope they iron-out some of the wrinkles before the next series. The power play was brutal to watch.

04-28-2011, 10:08 AM
The power play was pathetic.
1st they can't enter the zone, how many times did Kaberle try to take it in at half speed only to have Lucic or Marchand off sides. The Canadiens were running a simpl 1-3 in the neutral zone and Julien couldn't figure it out. Then he attempts to switch it up by having Seidenberg drop to Recchi who is supposed to be moving at full speed, what a friggen disaster. You watch any team that executes that entry and they send a speedster like Gomez or Camaleri not Recchi.
Then when they finally get it into the zone their puck movment is like their using a weighted puck and everyone is standing still, replay the Canadiens puck movement and you see Subban sliding down low to an open seem, I remember a few years ago when Chara was playing offense on the power play, camped out in front.
Lucic was Terrible last night, I would have liked to see more of Peverly and Kelly. Ryder was OK but man did he look like a rookie attempting to deke through 3 and 4 Canadiens rather than taking it wide down the boards.
Totally agree with the thread, glad to see the Canadiens out of the playoffs and I hope someone in their organization has a talk with those pussies. You have to give them credit for trying and making it work to their advantage. They were obviously not going to hold their own playing the rough game with the B's.
How about starting a thread on the pathetic officiating through the series.
The high stick from Bergeron last night from one angle looked like a close call but never made contact.
The slash they gave Horton on game 6 at the end of the 2nd period was a joke as were many penalties.
The damn slashing call for breaking a composite stick needs to be looked at, those friggen sticks break way to easy for them to be calling that all the time. Maybe treat it like a puck played with a high stick and reface off in the offensive zone?

For the record, the Bruins dive too. Perhaps not like the Habs, but they do it all the same (as does every team in the NHL and pro sports). They are pros -- hired to get results. And, at least theoretically, power plays should result in in points/wins. On most teams anyway... Montreal has just built a team around opportunism. You make any little mistake and they pounce on it. And, when you don't they'll manufacture mistakes...for which I hate them.
But...I love to hate the Habs. At least in that sense that I love to hate the Yankees and to a less extent the Jets. They give us -- New Englanders -- the sort of black hat to fight against. I mean if you had to see just one game before you died wouldn't it be the Bruins against Montreal? And, granted, who wears the black hat is all in the eye of the beholder , now isn't it... After all,the Pats are the Canadiens of the NFL these days...and they're our team. I'd hate them with a passion of a thousand suns if I grew up elsewhere...
And, while I'm on my rant, does anyone else think this team just pales against any team that had Bourque on it. My God am I grumpy and old....

To give the Devil his due, Price IS one HELL of a good goalie. I'd like to see Subban get in a car accident (not a serious one, calm down everyone, just a wreck the wife's car, ruin your insurance rates and your entire week kind of car wreck), and Hammerlik got what he deserved when the B's scored while he was trying to win his Oscar, but that dive in the corner disgusted me.
But nobody can deny, Price REALLY did make them work for it.

I was surprised to see the b's win game 7. They were getting out skated up and down the ice in this game and couldn't break into the offensive zone worth a crap.
The Bruins / Canadiens rivalry is arguable the most intense rivalry in pro sports. It doesn't get the press only because hockey isn't as popular.

As a die hard Bruins fan, I have to disagree. The Bruins hold that distinction. A 3-0 series lead AND a 3-0 first period lead in game 7 to lose to a pourous defensive team with at best an average to below average NHL goalie takes the cake.
Sure makes this years series interesting because you got to know that the Flyers are thinking, no matter what, they are in every game and can never be defeated mentally.

Calude definitely needs to go. My view is that if the Bruins decide that Julien is the future of the team, then they wasted the pick on Seguin because he will NEVER develop under Claude.
What this amounts to is cheap ownership. They would be admitting they made a mistake when they gave Claude his extension and the Jacobs are too cheap to carry to coaches on the payroll (they would owe him pro-rata for his contract).

Tampa has a very very good goalie. this series will come down to who will continue to have the hot goalie going forward. Bruins in 6.
Tampa, style wise, is much more like Montreal than the Flyers, and this could pose trouble for the B's. Tampa, like Montreal plays a neutral zone trap, only slightly different in that Tampa plays a 1-3-1 neutral zone trap.
What this translates to is a team that is built to play transition hockey. This is what has given the B's fits this past season - teams that capitalize on neutral zone turnovers and transition. The B's D is a bit slow in this regards. Also, Tampa is great at protecting a lead, matched up against a B's team that all season was terrible at come from behind hockey.
The loss of Bergeron really hurts the B's against Tampa more so than any other team in the playoofs. Tampa is heavily relient on their PP and Bergeron was one of the best PK guys and they best at short handed face offs.
Now, the B's will have to skate, as opposed to try and pass their way out of their own end to neutralize the trap. Once in Tampa's zone, this is where they are weak - defensive break downs. Tamap G is over rated in that much of the shots faced were perimeter shots as a result of the trap.
Physically the B's have the edge.
The B's are playing great as of late. However, the past season showed us that this B's team can play outstanding hockey for 10 games and then, like a light switch not even show up for 7 straight games.
I say B's in 6 despite losing their best PK guy.

Nice to see the NJ/NY/Pitts retards out of this given their predictions are worth about as much as real estate in detriot (spelling on purpose). I disagree, Mod2, re:Tampa being more like the bacon-eating surrender-monkies. They have been accused of diving, but it was bruce friggin boudreau who said it so IMO, not worth much. Their trap is nowhere near as effective as NJ's legendary (and nhl-ruining, imo) trap and their D is suspect. They are far faster than any team the B's have played in the playoffs so far BUT I'm pretty sure the Bs won the season series 3-1 if memory serves. Bottom line, I like the matchup, esp with a hot TT and I will be in TB for the 2 games there, ticket contact willing...
