It is a stereo cooler and it's badass. The only downside is it is not rigged to serve as both a cooler and a stereo. Inside the cooler you will find a lawn mower/atv battery, 180 watt 4 channel amp, and an aux input connected to the amp w/ rca hookup. Take whatever you would like iphone, ipod and you are set. The cooler provides a safe enclosure and excellent bass. It can be used all day and the battery has yet to go dead. Of course charging overnight is a must with a trickle charger.

digging up an old thread

I'm considering a 79 sceptre. the boat was originally an inboard but the engine has been removed. how much work and, more importantly, expense would it be to close the transom and add a bracket for an outboard? if the price of the boat is right, it may be worth it but I don't want to get in over my head. any and all opinions appreciated

upon some research, it seems that these boats have a good amount of wood in them. im equally worried about rot in a boat this old. for the guys who have done restorations, have you found any significant issues? i know this will be boat specific, just trying to get an idea what im getting involved in

what size suzuki on the 21? what was top and cruising speed?

I put a 225 on it... Was a huge mistake, waaayy to heavy for it. It was a great boat for the sandbar and race the triple engine boats with up and down the river. But was to back-end heavy to fish in any chop. Top end with an empty boat by myself was right around 60-62. The boat with all new floors and aluminum gas tank, barely weighed anything.

redemn93
02-15-2013, 08:51 AM
one of the fastest sea crafts ive heard of lol. sounds like the same boat with a 175 would be better for fishing in chop? always loved those boats.

how you compare your currect sea craft quality wise to the older ones?

Teasem
02-15-2013, 08:56 AM
The perfect set-up for those older 21's in my opinion would be a Yamaha 150 4-stroke.. Perfect weight and those motors are bullet proof. But as far as comparing, that is a huge discussion that could go for days. I liked my 21, but i think they did a top notch job on my 25. Mutch thicker glass work and finer lines inside (work wise).

"Obsession", you've got my vote so far. I pimped mine out with wood too, nothing to that extent though. I had a little 18, changed every hatch to mahogany, as well as the anchor locker and console access in the front.

I am such a sucker for inboards and wood. My My.

My `89 20 sf. The 21`s were not made in these times. Early 21`s were a whole different animal and highly sought after. The later 21`s were cut down
Potter 23`s, and a damn fine hull. If you put heavy motors on the early hulls, you may have issues...like porpoising, wet feet, and disappearing hulls.

Thanks Guy's. I may have some pics on my old pc, I will have to dig them up. They may be on the Classic Seacraft website from a few years back. I am in the process of cutting down the casting platform and making the deck flush from front to back. The inside is finished commercial, not as fancy as the outside, but it is solid. The Transom Livewell holds 65 Gallons, the Fuel Capacity is 140 Gallons. The Pilot House seats four Comfortably and has heat. The Engine is Jack-shafted to the DPH and there is a hatch up front that can hold an 800lb Tuna. I will take new pics when I am done.
