Burned out bearings cut into spindle. I am assuming I need to replace spindle is it just cuttting off and reweld to axle?

"just"? You're going to have to be pretty good at welding and have some way to keep it straight. Even a slight angle is going to wear out tires quickly.

Some spindles are bolted to the axle. You can tell by looking at it.

is it easier to just replace axle?

How bad is it cut? Remember the bearing don't spin on the spindle, so you may not need to. I have one on a small rig, grounds a flat pots on it when old bearing came apart, new bearings and hubs, runs fine.

After a little filing I was able to travel another 250 miles on this one. Just replace the spindle ... it's easy to do. I always carry an extra spindle just in case.

Lost a bearing buddy this is waht happens in 30 miles. Had checked them prior to heading over the Bonner Bridge on the last leg to Hatteras.
