I have an older single axle trailer, 3400lb gross weight rating. A previous owner rigged in some c-hook springs that obviously don't fit properly but I can't figure out what is actually supposed to be there.
The existing hangers both have an inside width of around 2" or slightly less, (the current springs are 1.75" wide which appear to be the right width). What confuses me is that the bolt centers are spaced 26" or maybe 25.75" apart, and both are centered 1.5" below the frame and I can't find anything in the catalogs that seems to be right. Probably a slipper of some kind but I can't figure out what length. Does anybody have any experience with those hanger dimensions? I would shoot a photo but again I know that the current springs are wrong so I don't want to match what is there.
BTW, the axle is 2" square and is currently mounted on top of the spring which leaves very little clearance from the frame.
