Anyone going to visit and fish Northern Ca. try and hit Lake Don Pedro near Jamestown Ca.
http://donpedrolake.com/index.htm

Last year the Landlocked Kings were amazing and this year look to be even better.

Don Pedro is in a very beautiful setting, with over 160 miles of shoreline and is a deep, cold preserve for trout,Kings, Kokanee salmon and bass.

But the large Kings are my favorite...last year I landed over 80 Kings from 3 to 9 lbs..great eating and fun to catch.
Not as large as the seagoing Kings but actually better eating.
Anyone interested in more details of how to rig etc let me know...these are not easy to catch and certain sonar and fishing techniques are used.

Here are a few shots of the Kings taken from the lake last year by different anglers.. Not bad for Landlocked salmon. Super healthy fish and great eating.

OK, how do i get your tips so its not a wasted trip?

My Bro in law has a place at Maclure and caught some bass there last weekend between helping him build a deck and install a spa. At Maclure the oldtimers catch those Kokes trolling a chunk of nightcrawler

Those don't all look like kings. The mouths are too light ( should be pure black gums ? ) or is that just the lake water causing that? The little guys looks like some sort of trout and maybe kokanee?
