judging by the red markings on my v-torsion axles my hull is making contact while launching. My other cross members have rubber guards and I was curious how I could mount some sort of pad without drilling into the axle? any suggestions welcome..

possibly mount a bracket with a roller on it around the axle with u bolts. One of these with a keel roller on it: http://www.ptrailerusa.com/products/Panel-Bracket-%252d-10%22-%252d-CES10304G.html

I think your boat is sitting too low on the trailer. You need to make some adjustments to raise it so it doesn't hit the axle.

What ever you add to the trailer to prevent the boat from marking it, will only remove the load from the other contact points.
The boat will continue trying to saw thru whatever you add on at that spot.
