Jim, I want to purchase one of these for a back-up unit. Since I already have SH installed in my dash, would like to stay with this brand.

I prefer the HX850. It has a built-in GPS so the DSC function will work. You can also get an optional alkaline battery tray, so even if the radio is dead you can pop some regular batts into it.
