looking at a new Nissan NV (the van version of the titan) Comes with "traction control" .(I would prefer limited slip differential) Am I right in in my evaluation that they are two different animals ?

Two different things, traction control monitors wheel spin and retards power when wheel spin is detected. Limited slip limits the slip by locking the differential either mechanically or electronically, it can be in the differential or apply the brake to the wheel that is slipping transfering power to the other wheel. The titan has an electronic locker, not sure what the NV has.

I have an Armada and let me tell ya, I'm VERY impressed with the traction control. It's only 2WD but has ZERO problems at the ramp...

They are two different things LS and Trac control.
