Currently converting my tandem axle boat trailer over to a disk electric/hydrulic setup. Should i use regular dot3 brake fluid or is synthetic dot3 brake fluid better?

I want to say that all dot 3 brake fluid is synthetic, I might be wrong on that one though. I have been using the dot3 synthetic pennzoil that comes in the yellow bottle, works fine. Brake fluid is brake fluid really just stick with whatever dot designation you need. Changing it out yearly on a boat trailer is a good idea BTW.

I think you need DOT 4 to get synthetic but it is backwards compliant so DOT 4 will work in DOT 3 but not vice a versa. I would go synthetic, good luck with conversion I would be interested to hear how it turns out.
