Would I really see, or feel much difference in towing a 24' bay boat that weighs in ready to roll at 5,300# in a Tahoe versus a Suburban? Would the expected wear and tear, and this maintenance, be the same for the two?

In this case, they are both equipped with the same drive train (5.3) and towing package options. One is a '07 and the other an '08. Both 2WD.

The typical towing distance is about 80 miles, each way.

thanks for any guidance ~

The Sub will be more "stable" due to the longer wheelbase.

Would the expected wear and tear, and this maintenance, be the same for the two? Exactly the same, how/why could it be different?

As long they are both 3.73's they are the same.We tow with a Tahoe (6000lbs) with no problems.

I asked if there were expected differences in maintenance needs or costs to spur any thoughts. To me there should be no difference.

I need to confirm but I think both trucks have the 3.43 rear end. But I may have that confused. The 3.73 would be the better ratio for this purpose, so maybe the "towing Package" they have includes that - I am just confused on it right now. Will investigate, for sure.
Thanks

same amount of wear. the suburban would be more comfortable on longer tows. less swaying at higher speeds
