Looks nice, but why would you put air lockers in it if you never take it off road, seems like a big expense and complicated install for something that cannot be used on the street.

Nice Jeep, I'm into jeeps. Here is mine:
http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t56/z28yj/img093.jpg

It's got an LT1, one ton axles, and 42s. I kicked around the idea of selling it to fund a boat purchase, but I found that the market for this kind of toy is severely depressed. You might find that yours is more marketable, since its streetable, I don't know. Do you belong to a local jeep club? Does your club have a forum? You might have better luck listing it for sale there. You can try listing it on Pirate4x4.com, but that site caters more to jeeps like mine...I doubt you'd find much interest there. I'm not trying to price bash, and I hope I'm wrong, but I think your asking price is pretty optimistic for a stock drivetrain jeep. You'll probably find, like I did, that you're just better off keeping it rather than essentially giving it away. Good luck.

Sorry to disagree, but, I don't know if you have looked at all the photobucket pics. This jeep has a $5000.00 paint/body job and $3000.00 in Fosgate stereo in her. Plus she isn't a stock drivetrain. This jeep is loaded and it has no comparision to a strickly offroad machine that is constantly torn up. My jeep can hang off road and on road. Airlockers, one piece axle,cv jointed drive, etc I appreciate your opinion, but I'm not selling a normal cj-7, this is and antique and it has been very well taken care of since the day I got her in 1990. She looks good, sounds good, and runs good. I do have her listed in multiple locations and with clubs. This jeep is just like selling an older car that is in pristeen shape. It may take a specialty buyer, but its worth every penny I am asking for her. :)

I know why you guys build your jeeps the way you do. I have been to many offroad jamborees in my time. What I can say, is a LT1 motor is overkill for a jeep unless your using it for strickly off roading like yourself. If I added all the weight you have added I would want a bigger motor also. But this jeep is still set up for family use, like carrying around a couple kids while driving down the beach. I listed here in addition to 4x4 websites because a lot of my fellow boaters appreciate a nice jeep you can drive on the road. Last but not least, at the price I'm asking, I am giving her away! Nice Jeep, I'm into jeeps. Here is mine:

I was building it to have the option. There is a switch for both front and rear lockers. The airlockers are not full time, they are ingaged when needed. The way an airlocker works is it will transfer the power going to the wheel that has traction. Example, if you had two wheels off the ground, you would still be able to go forward with the airlockers engaged. The power will be transfered to the wheels that are still on the ground. No spinning wheel in the air. Its vertually unstopable. When your on the street you just disengage the lockers and your good to go. You can drive it on the street. Thats why it is set up the way it is with the air lockers. Looks nice, but why would you put air lockers in it if you never take it off road, seems like a big expense and complicated install for something that cannot be used on the street.

Take it easy, man. I wasn't knocking your jeep. As somebody who keeps a pretty close eye on the jeep market, I was just making a commentary on what I've seen. And what I've seen is that people in the jeep market either like their jeeps heavily modified or stock classics. Yours falls in a middle ground...too nice to abuse like I do mine and not a showroom stock antique. Like I said, I hope I'm wrong. Good luck with the sale.

I didn't think you were bashing it. Its a rare find when you find a jeep that is this well maintained. If you look on ebay you will see a few close to comparable and they are going or asking for much more. Plus stated above, I will lower the price without the stereo included. It would sound great in my boat....:grin:Take it easy, man. I wasn't knocking your jeep. As somebody who keeps a pretty close eye on the jeep market, I was just making a commentary on what I've seen. Sorry to say this is what the problem you will have selling your jeep. Most people that look for older ones are looking to make mods for offroading. Not much calls for ones that are already built. Your is nice, don't get me wrong, but I would hate to put something like that offroad at that price.

That is why I bought a 1999 XJ and lifted it 4.5" and now thinking of going up to 7" with long arms. I want me some 42's under it. :) Oh, I got just 4 grand in it with a good sound system to boot too! And I can use it on road as needed.

:)But its an XJ!! Enough said:roll No worries guys, I have plenty of interest in the jeep and in no rush to sell it. I will be waiting on the right buyer. Simply put, this jeep has been well taken care of for the last 21 years that I have owned her. She is one of the nicest cj's you will find. To give you an idea, I have $5000.00 body/paint and $3000.00 in Fosgate stereo system. She drives good, sounds good and looks good. Air lockers front and back with moser one piece axle. She will go anywhere you want to go on land. Read over the list above and feel free to check the pics of her out on the link above. Also as stated above I will sell the jeep cheaper without the stereo, It would sound great in my boat!.... Thanks Sorry to say this is what the problem you will have selling your jeep. Sold..................Good for you.
Don't get ruffled by the critics.
People who own toys will install equipment that never gets used.
And that includes a vast number of the boats owned by members on this forum.
