Does anyone know of a way to test the dampners on the surge hitch? I have a Titan model 20 hitch and I have noticed that it seems to be clunking more than I remember. I have taken it apart and removed the dampners and they both seem to have about 1/2" to 3/4" of movement before building up pressure. I'm not sure what they should be like and before I order new ones, I wondered if anyone had any experience with them. Thanks for any help....

Sounds like they are junk, its no different than a regular shock in that they should develop pressure as soon as the piston travels in.

The new ones i installed in my model 10 did not have any slack in them.
