boatlift

As the weather starts to break over here in Texas, I hate to say it & jinx us, but it feels like Spring is in the air. As we start to inch closer & closer to boating season, now is the time to do a once over with the boat lift to ensure it's in tip top shape. Here are a few quick troubleshooting tips:
Double & triple check the cable (http://www.boatliftdistributors.com/Accessories-Pulleys-&-Hardware-Cable/c37_51_72/index.html) to ensure there are now cuts, flat spots, burrs, etc. If you see questionable areas then you should change out your cables.
Make sure the toggle switches are in the neutral position & plug the lift in. If your GFCI (http://www.boatliftdistributors.com/Motors/Gear-Units-Boat-Lift-Parts/c24_79/p346/Replacement-GFCI/product_info.html) (reset button) test light is not glowing then you have a bad GFCI which will lead to -0- power to the motors
If the GFCI is glowing & you turn the toggle switches (http://www.boatliftdistributors.com/Motors/Gear-Units-Boat-Lift-Parts/c24_79/index.html)& nothing happens, or you get a hum, immediately return the switches to the neutral position & unplug the motors (http://www.boatliftdistributors.com/Motors/Gear-Units-Replacement-Motors/c24_76/index.html) from the outlet or whatever power supply is feeding the lift. Open up the switch & look for a loose wire, water, corrosion, or even ants. If you find this, clean the switch up the best you can, let it dry, & cross your fingers it fires back up.
Grease (http://www.boatliftdistributors.com/Motors/Gear-Units-Boat-Lift-Parts/c24_79/p607/Purple-Slide-Grease/product_info.html) all grease contact points on the lift.
Direct drives (http://www.boatliftdistributors.com/Motors/Gear-Units-Direct-Drive-Units/c24_95/index.html)should be checked for fluid levels & flat plates (http://www.boatliftdistributors.com/Motors/Gear-Units-Flat-Plate-Boat-Hoists/c24_75/index.html)should be greased & belt tension double checked.
If you do all of this & the lift is still inoperable pick up the phone & call us as we will help troubleshoot the issue over the phone. If it's a weekend & our office is closed, click HERE (http://www.boatliftdistributors.com/contact_us.php) to contact me personally via email & I will respond back via email or phone call, Rest assures we have contractors from Texas to Maine & all points in between, we can get you fixed up.
If you're in the market for a new lift, then you've found the right place. Boat Lift Distributors sells all lifts from galvanized units to T6 6061 structural aluminum with stainless components. We even sell the direct drive sealed gear system (http://www.boatliftdistributors.com/Motors/Gear-Units-Direct-Drive-Units/c24_95/index.html) & the flat plat power hoist (http://www.boatliftdistributors.com/Motors/Gear-Units-Flat-Plate-Boat-Hoists/c24_75/index.html). As you shop around for your next lift be very careful of a salesman that only sells one or the other, they're biased to what they sell. Boat Lift Distributors will always shoot you straight as we sell both units & offer both bolt on boat lifts & welded boat lifts. It's not amateur hour around here, call to see what over 35 years of experience can get you. Sales, service, installation, we're #1 for a reason.
