Just bought a used 1986 Sea Ray. It has 170 Mercruisers..the heat exchanger end cap will not tighten up all the way.. anyone have ideas on what should i do to fix this problem?

I have an older Sea Ray, love the old lines,... If you don't get any help here try a site called "Club Sea Ray"...They talk nothing but sea rays over there...good luck
