I have a Sirius ready Jensen MSR3007 installed in my boat and a Lowrance HDS-5. Want to know if I order the Lowrance Sirius weather antenna and with proper subscription will the interface module included with the LWX-1 provide connection to my Jensen stereo for listening to Sirius radio. Thanks

Thanks for your reply. So what you are syaing is: the HDS would control the Siruis tuning, and not the Jensen? The HDS and the Jensen would have control of the volume? Correct?
I remember having a Sirius cable with connector coming from the Jensen, will this plug directly into the LWX-1 interface module? Sounds like the module would need to be mounted close to the Jensen for the cable to reach. Thanks

SIRIUS Marine Weather (SMW) units that have the SIRIUS Satellite Radio (SSR) subscription added are a convenient way to add SIRIUS Satellite Radio programming to your vessel. Unfortunately, this method only passes the stereo audio signal via 3.5mm audio jack and must be connected to a stereo via auxiliary input (same as connecting a MP3 player). SIRIUS Marine Weather units do not have the ability to send the dedicated SIRIUS Satellite Radio data/audio signals to SIRIUS Ready radios. This is the same with all current hardware; changing brands of stereos will not provide a solution to control the SIRIUS Satellite Radio function as the SIRIUS Marine Weather interface module does not have this capability. It does appear that the Lowrance Sonic Hub is an alternate option to a traditional marine stereo system that integrates both SIRIUS services with the Lowrance HDS units.
If you want to have SIRIUS Satellite Radio control via the SIRIUS Ready radio, then you must install a traditional SIRIUS radio tuner and SIRIUS Marine radio antenna. Using this method will give you the full benefit of having a SIRIUS Ready radio (full control via radio and optional wired remotes, better sound quality as well as channel/song/artist info on the radio display).
As the subscriptions are separate for both SIRIUS Marine Weather & SIRIUS Satellite Radio service (*excluding the Voyager plan), you would just need to activate the SIRIUS Marine Weather unit without the SIRIUS Satellite Radio option.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thanks for the info. What type of cable is needed to connect an MP3 player to the Jensen MSR3007 ?

You can use any standard mini stereo audio cable (3.5mm) which will connect from your MP3 player's headphone out to the MSR3007's front AUX IN jack. These are available at most electronics stores.

I have a MSR2007 and currently in the process of installing a Sirius weather antenna. I have read the previous posts concerning getting the information across my HDS but my (left and right) AUX inputs are RCA connectors. Is this where I am supposed to plug the 3.5mm jack into to get the information to the HDS? Thanks for your time.

The LWX-1 module will plug into your HDS via the ethernet connection on back of unit, the orange connector.

This will send weather and Sirius radio signal to the HDS provided you have a subscription for both. The audio signal is sent from the HDS via the 3.5 mm jack to rthe stereo that you mention above. The LWX-1 black box has the 3.5mm jack on the side. I have the RCA cables too coming out the back with a 3.5 mm jack on the face, however I don't use subscribe to Sirius radio. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

I get how all weather stuff works but I don't have the 3.5mm jack in the back or front of the stereo. I have the lifetime subscription to Sirius so I plan on getting the Info on the HDS. I just need to know if there is such a plug that goes from 3.5mm to RCA and this is in fact where I get the HDS will get the audio info.

Jensen Reps have you ever heard of this;
Just recently purchased the LWX-1 and I have a lifetime audio subscription to Sirius radio. I am not getting the music through the weather antenna. I called Sirius and they said that you cannot add a lifetime subscription to a weather antenna. Which sounds like horse$hit. So my question is, do any of you currently have a lifetime subscription to Sirius radio and are using the LWX-1. Thanks
