Shopped the local dealer(s) first and got no where. Surfed the web and contacted a dealer in Atlanta....Ed Voyles Jeep. Agreed on the price - $1,500 savings over my local guys.

Surprize?
They drove it to my front door - no charge. I did not ask - they volunteered.
No buying order - No cash deposit - No credit card "charged" prior to delivery.
Yes, I agreed to the price in a email...but no "contract".
Totally hassle free.
No BS. From "agreement" to delivery....about 7 hours.

I am roughly 300 miles away and was very impressed with their way of doing business.

4 door wrangler for my daughter. Yes it has the towing package.

:o no money up front? While I'm happy for you, what if you had been gone, or changed your mind, or ???

What an odd way to get a sale without any money or contract changing hands. Heck, it might have been 08087's minor child on the computer!

Yea try that at my local Jeep dealer, Pine Belt in NJ. The word for them that comes to mind is turds!!!

I was a cash buyer and it took me two hours of negotiation.
Had a service call for the thing not going into four wheel drive and they fought hard to get me to spend $99.00 dollars for an oil change and 5000 mile tire rotation plus a few other inspections.
Buy the way they did not have the part to fix the 4 wheel drive. That was a month ago. A wasted day at the dealership.

I agree. It worked out for both of us. The only info he had on me was physical address, phone numbers, email address, copy of drivers license and insurance card.

He did require "certified" funds upon exchange/delivery.
Again, I would have driven to Atlanta (stopping by Auburn to visit oldest daughter) without hesitation. And I hate driving in Atlanta.

The Jeep/Chrysler market is uber-competitive here in town....you have one dealership that is a legit one-price outfit that seems to be giving the stuff away. You have Carmax selling new Jeeps here in a no-haggle environment....you have a very old family (Hayes) who owns several dealerships here and who does stuff like monthly dinners, training sessions, etc... for owners. Ed Voyles is trying to just be competitive.

When we had the Durango I stopped in there a couple times....seemed like nice enough folks. Glad you had a good experience.

PS - you get used to driving in Atlanta...eventually

Dealer may be hurting, or the salesman or manager is hurting. Either way good for you.

Some dealers know how to do business. A few years back when my wife wanted a new Acura TL we went to the closest dealer to our house. We selected the car (about 34 grand) and sat down to make the deal. The saleshole looked at us like were A holes for wanting the deal we did.

We said OK thanks for your time and left. From the car we called another Acrua dealer in Miami about 45 miles away. They had the same exact car in stock and had no problem with our terms. It took us about 40 minutes to get there and my wife did the entire deal over the phone while we were driving there. They had the car washed, gassed and ready when we arrived. After 30 minutes we were out the door with the new car.

The next day the saleshole from the first dealer called us at home saying they would make the deal. I took great pleasure in telling him no thanks and how we acquired the same car from Miami Acura.

Don't you just love it when that happens!!!

My story about that was back in '92 when I was buying a new F250 diesel S/C 4X4. Our local guy jerked me around for two hours. I was a cash buyer with no trade and was ready to take delivery that night.

Nope, no way. They let me walk over a $600 difference.

I called a dealer which was about 30 minutes away and told him the deal that I wanted. He didn't have the truck in my color, but said that he could trade for it. We agreed on the deal and the next morning he called to tell me that he had the truck on its way and to come pick it up.

The funny thing is that they traded for the truck that was at my local dealership! The same identical truck! I closed the deal and drove it home.

Later that day, I got a phone call from the sales guy at the local dealership telling me that they would accept my offer and to come on down and pick it up. I thought I'd play along, so I asked him if he still had it and he told me yes, that it was still there! :o I asked him to go verify that it was still there before I drove over to buy it, so he put me on hold. A few minutes later, he told me that unfortunately, one of the other sales guys "sold it" earlier in the day but he could get me another one!

I then let the cat out of the bag and told him that I already bought it from the other dealership that agreed to my offer and that they dealer-traded his dealership for it. He called me an SOB and hung up on me!
